Job Description

We are looking for a Metal Fabricator and MIG Welder to join our team, combining fabrication skills with welding expertise to produce quality metal products.

This role involves fabricating custom and standard metal products from blueprints and performing MIG welding on galvanized steel and aluminum. The position requires close collaboration with engineering and production teams to maintain product quality and efficient workflow. Candidates must be able to read blueprints and operate welding equipment safely and effectively.

Job Details

• PAY RATE: 21.25 hour
• HOURS: Mon-Thur 6:00am to 3:30pm and 1 2 days on Friday
• LOCATION: Reno, NV 89506
• POSITION: Temp to Hire

Responsibilities

• Fabricate custom and standard products from blueprints with high attention to detail and efficiency.
• Communicate with shop manager and engineering on product issues and assist with streamlining methods for production.
• MIG weld 10-to-20-gauge galvanized steel for adapters, curbs, and other products.
• Conduct visual inspections of welded components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Work closely with engineers, fabricators, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and successful project completion.
• Under direct supervision, spot weld metal components together.

Required Qualifications

• Familiar with safe welding practices.
• Capable of learning to read fabrication drawings with some instruction.
• Capable of welding 10-to-20-gauge galvanized steel (can be taught).
• Physically capable of loading fabrication parts onto the weld table.
• Capable of blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
• Self-starter needing minimal guidance on daily tasks.
• Quality oriented with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, tape measures, and diagrams.
• Working knowledge of MIG welding machines including preventive maintenance and control settings.
• Able to move objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Required: 1-year previous MIG welding experience.
• Able to work with a positive attitude and in a team setting.
• Basic understanding of safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Trade school or certification in welding.
